The scene was modeled in Blender 2.46 and then exported to the Wavefront (.obj) format.
Additional information (light, fog, camera position) was extracted to separate files using self written little Blender scripts, which were then parsed in the raytracer. You can find them in the ressources section.
Most of the objects seen in the scene were downloaded from one of these fabulous 3D ressources websites, where you can find a lot of models and textures both in high quality and for free. Thanks to the authors of the models :)
The final scene contains 1.289.781 triangles, from which 1.179.642 are generated by the surface subdivision algorithm used for displacement mapping. Thus, the scene description file explicitly contains 110.139 triangles.
The whole scene rendered at 1280x960 pixels with 16x16 stratified supersampling on a Core2Duo 3.0GHz desktop computer under Ubuntu 8.04. It took approx. 23.399 seconds which is exactly six and a half hours.
